On 28–29 October 2025, ASTP’s Thematic Event – Academia–Industry Collaborations will take place in one of Europe’s most inspiring venues: the CosmoCaixa Museum of Science in Barcelona. And that choice is no coincidence.
CosmoCaixa is a place where science isn’t just displayed — it’s explored, questioned, and shared. From interactive exhibits to immersive learning spaces, the museum embodies the spirit of collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and communities. It stands as a powerful symbol of what knowledge transfer is all about: making connections that lead to real-world impact.
As Lidia Aguilera, Director of Innovation at CaixaResearch Institute and ASTP Thematic Event Committee member, describes it:
“CosmoCaixa is more than a science museum — it's a celebration of curiosity, discovery, and connection, making it the perfect setting for this ASTP thematic event on industrial collaborations. In the heart of Barcelona, a city with a long-standing culture of innovation and successful science-industry partnerships, this gathering comes at a crucial moment for knowledge transfer professionals. As ecosystems evolve rapidly, this event offers us a timely opportunity to exchange strategies, spark new collaborations, and draw inspiration from a city where science truly meets impact.”
Over two days, knowledge transfer professionals will explore how universities, research institutions, and industry can work together more strategically — through presentations, industry panels, and interactive group sessions. Among the experts sharing their insights, Lidia will also lead Exploring Collaboration Models – What Fits Where?, a highly interactive session inviting participants to compare different partnership approaches and reflect on what works best in their own contexts.
Whether you’re walking down the museum’s iconic spiral ramp or discussing challenges over coffee with fellow professionals, you’ll be in a space that invites curiosity, sparks conversation, and encourages fresh thinking.
This conference is a chance to experience collaboration in action — to see how knowledge can move from theory to practice, from idea to implementation.
