Fredrik Edman has more than 14 years’ experience in innovation, intellectual property and knowledge transfer, and is an accredited Registered Technology Transfer Professional by the Alliance of Technology Transfer Association (ATTP). He comes from an engineering background with a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Lund University, and has worked at two prestigious European patent law firms. For more than 10 years, Edman has worked at the innovation office at Lund University with everything from IPR, business advising, education, and tool development, to being the project manager of several large EU projects within innovation and entrepreneurship. He is course responsible and lecturer in subjects such as law, business management and electronics, and teaches regularly at several universities in Sweden. Edman’s research interests range from ultrafast measurement systems, legal decision-making systems using AI, and IPR as a business tool, to knowledge-based social innovation. Edman is currently the head of the professional development group at the Swedish Network for Innovation & Technology Transfer Support (SNITTS), and the lead partner in Sweden for the Interreg project Science for Society 2.0.
