Alexis Dewaele

Senior Lecturer - Ghent University , Belgium

Alexis Dewaele is senior lecturer in qualitative research methods in clinical psychology as well as the coordinator of PSYNC, a Ghent University interdisciplinary consortium dedicated to improving the mental health of all citizens, running research projects in close collaboration with diverse stakeholder groups, and with a clear focus on generating real world impact and evidence-based solutions. Throughout the years he was involved in several (quantitative as well as qualitative) studies on the organisation of mental health care, stakeholder collaboration and co-creation, and on sexual minorities.

He is also an active member of the European Sexual Medicine Network and involved in diverse local bodies related to mental health policy (e.g., the Belgian Superior Health Council and the Flemish Strategic Unit for Primary Mental Health Care).
