Today it is quite common for universities to collaborate with industry on a project-by-project basis

While this approach has many benefits (e.g. additional source of funding, validate market-relevance for research, achievement of KPIs) industry collaboration might be seen as questionable from a research perspective (“academic freedom”). While there are many different forms of industry collaboration, a more strategic approach can multiply the positive effects from a research, impact and political perspective.

In this session Carlo Duprel, Head of TTO at SnT, Univeristy of Luxembourg, will share his insights on importance of industrial collaboration strategies.
This Tea with ASTP is also an invitation to discuss the matter of university-industry collaborations during the next ASTP Thematic workshop in September in Barcelona. Lidia Aguilera Martinez, Director of Innovation, CaixaResearch Institute in Barcelona will share the highlights of the event’s agenda.
