Independent Consultant - UK, UK

Independent Consultant

Scott Wilson has worked in software for the last 25 years, both in the private sector, and as an academic researcher. He has been deeply involved in the open source community, both as a former Vice President of the Apache Software Foundation, and as the leader of OSS Watch, a UK organisation based at the University of Oxford with the aim of providing independent, non-advocacy advice on open source for development and commercialisation.

He has worked with a large number of universities, companies and other organisations around Europe, helping them understand how open source licenses can affect the sustainability and commercialisation of software. Scott is still actively involved in software development, building data analytics and machine learning applications at Jisc, a UK service provider for the higher education sector.

Scott lives in Manchester in the UK.
