Marie has an interest in business development and is involved in the creation of spin-outs, having a particular role as an interim-CEO in one of the spin-outs of the University of Malta, De Novo Cell ltd.
Marie is a warranted pharmacist, and her working experience as a community pharmacist has led her to engage with patients on a personal level and also to experience first-hand the market needs in life sciences. After an internship at the Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) of the University of Malta, she joined the KTO as an Executive in Technology Transfer. She primarily manages intellectual property related to life and pharmaceutical sciences with the aim to take that innovation to market and create impact. Her aim is to advance specific technologies and in strengthening the technology transfer framework in Malta.
