Gunilla Klöhn works for the German Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Controls (BAFA), the German licensing authority for exports of arms and dual-use items. Gunilla is deputy head of the policy division and supports the licensing units of BAFA as well as industries and academia with regard to legal issues related to the export of sensitive items (including software and technology). She is responsible for the Academia initiative launched by BAFA in 2018 as well as for two of the international export control regimes. In addition, she is engaged in the amending process of the EC Dual-use Regulation, which establishes common EU control rules and a common EU control list of dual-use items.
Prior to BAFA Gunilla worked for a German law firm. She studied law with a focus on international public law at Heidelberg University.
