Elena Merlo has a research background and currently works as a senior project manager at the Center for Development and Innovation of the University Medical Center Groningen. In her position, she initiates and manages public-private partnerships with a broad network of stakeholders at global level, including small to large enterprises and public institutions.
She is highly motivated to bridge the academic world with the non-academic sector working along with researchers towards knowledge transfer to maximize societal impact.
