Dr. Alexandra Hausstein is Managing Director and Researcher at the Institute of Technology Futures at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
Dr. Alexandra Hausstein is Managing Director and Researcher at the Institute of Technology Futures at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
As a sociologist, she explores practices of futurizing in technology development and innovation processes and analyzes functions of visions and imaginaries of future in modern societies. In addition, she initiates cooperative projects with Engineering Sciences at KIT, with the aim of making humanities and social science knowledge a constitutive part of technology development and innovation processes.
Currently, she is conducting a project on how to implement concepts of transformative science in established research environments (TRANSFORM). That includes investigating the role of SSH knowledge and research practices for knowledge transfer, supporting transformation processes addressing SDGs.
