Dr. Alexander Born joined the Institute of Communication and Navigation of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in 2011 where he worked as team leader and project manager with experience in GNSS Augmentation Systems and manoeuver guidance in open and inland water transportation.
In 2015 he joined the DLR technology marketing department where he is head of the technology transfer office Berlin, responsible for innovation management and technology transfer in the Eastern region of Germany. This includes both the support of scientists in generating and formulating ideas and the supervision of innovation projects. Furthermore, he is involved scientifically in R&D projects on the topic of technology transfer and business development.
Alexander is head of the Deep Market Insight project, which aims to develop a method to evaluate new markets and, above all, to identify technical and non-technical innovation barriers at an early stage and make proposals to circumvent or overcome them.
Alexander has (co)authored more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and conference proceedings.
He holds a diploma degree in Geodesy from Technical University Berlin and a Ph.D. in Geodesy from Rostock University (both Germany).
