Workshop on Open Source Project Offices
Although we will miss meeting up with you at the annual ASTP conference, the DI SIG is still alive and kicking.
Open Source Project Offices are all the rage, or at least, coming into their own. Universities and Research Centres are significant open source software and data users and producers, and our experience (and field work) proves that researchers need a lot of support and services in the area of open source management – compliance, licensing, community building, business models.
In this hands-on workshop we will look at the concept of “OSPO” as a tool to support research and knowledge transfer, see what people are doing, and try to set out some best practices, procedures and resources for open source management.
