The Legal SIG provides a collaborative space for professionals to address the wide range of legal questions and dilemmas that arise in knowledge transfer. Members share expertise and best practices on topics such as intellectual property, licensing, contractual agreements, and regulatory developments that directly impact the sector.

Each month, the group meets to discuss a specific legal theme, often grounded in practical case studies and emerging legislation. Recent topics have included negotiating indemnification clauses in research agreements, adapting contracts to the challenges of artificial intelligence (AI), navigating the European AI Act, exploring the legal implications of the EU Data Act, and identifying pitfalls in academia–industry agreements. These sessions combine expert input with open discussion, enabling participants to exchange strategies, learn from real-world experiences, and stay informed about evolving regulations.

By fostering dialogue across the network, the Legal SIG strengthens legal expertise and supports more effective knowledge transfer practices, ensuring members are equipped to manage both current challenges and future developments.
