Sabina is involved in various projects as TT expert and prepares expert reports on the exploitation potential of various technologies. Furthermore, she was part of an expert team of the Leopoldina on the topic of the antibiotics crisis/antibiotic resistance.
Sabina has worked for Ascenion GmbH since April 2002. She conducts scientific and economic evaluations of inventions and promotes licenses of Intellectual Property Rights to the biotech industry and big pharma. Apart from analysing the scientific background of inventions, she also assesses the market potential of Intellectual Property. This ranges from a general market overview to detailed analyses that include risk adjusted net present value (rNPV) calculations. Moreover, she is responsible for the quality of invention evaluation reports written by all of Ascenion’s 13 Tech Scouts and Managers.
Prior to joining Ascenion, Sabina worked at the German Research Center for Biotechnology (GBF), Braunschweig, now Helmholtz Center for Infection Research (HZI), in many different fields of life sciences, including microbiology and proteomics. She studied biology at the Technical University Carolo Wilhelmina in Braunschweig with focus on biochemistry and genetics and did her PhD work at the GBF, focusing on signal transduction in plant cell cultures and proteinphosphorylation patterns.
For many years she has been a member of ASTP and was certified as RTTP in 2013.
